Udio downloader not working? It isn't your browser — Udio closed the door

Every Udio downloader stopped working on the same day, for the same reason. Here is Udio's own statement, the changelog that used to document the download button, and the three things that are actually still possible.

Downloads: disabled — audio, video and stemsSince the Universal Music Group deal, announced 29 Oct 2025Checked against the official changelog on 14 Oct 2026
“On October 29, 2025, Udio entered into a partnership with Universal Music Group.

… As part of this, the following changes were made to the Udio service: … Note that downloading of audio, video, and stems has been disabled”
— Udio Help Center: “Changes associated with the Universal Music Group ("UMG") partnership”, article dated 17 February 2026. Quoted verbatim; ellipses mark omitted credit-limit lines.

Read that sentence again: three formats, not one

Most “Udio disabled downloads” write-ups only mention the MP3 button. The official line names audio, video, and stems. That matters if your plan was to grab a stem, or the vertical video, or to batch-export a playlist — all three exits are covered by the same sentence.

What you wantedWhat Udio's own pages sayConsequence for a downloader site
MP3 / WAV of a song“downloading of audio … has been disabled”Nothing to fetch. A paste-link tool returns an error, not a slow one.
Separate stems“… and stems has been disabled”Stem splitting elsewhere can't help — the source stems aren't served either.
The video“audio, video, and stems”Video is named explicitly, so a “Udio video downloader” has the same problem.
All my songs at onceChangelog, 16 Mar 2025: Bulk download of your own songs in playlist (pro only)Bulk export existed — for Pro. It was switched off with everything else.
Songs I published before the changeNo grandfathering mentioned in the noticeBeing an early customer doesn't restore a removed feature.

The same changelog also shows how narrow downloads were to begin with: on 18 December 2024 Udio logged Hide download button for non-owners of songs. So even before the shutdown, the only person who could download a track was the person who made it.

Why no “Udio downloader” can work, even a good one

A paste-link downloader is a courier, not a factory

It reads the public page, finds the file the platform is already serving, and copies it to you. It never rebuilds audio. If the platform stops serving the file, there is no second source for the courier to pick up.

So the button disappears

That is why tools on this keyword went quiet on one date instead of degrading slowly. It was not a maintenance window, a rate limit, or “paste the link in a different format”.

What a tool is really doing if it still claims to work

Two possibilities, and neither is a download: it records the song while it plays — a re-encode in real time, not the original file — or it shows you an error page after taking your traffic. Read the fine print before trusting a “success” screenshot.

We have not built a Udio fetcher and this page does not try to read your Udio links. We're describing Udio's published statements, with links, so you can check them yourself.

What is still possible

RouteWhat you end up withHonest limits
Share the udio.com linkA playable page anyone can openNot a file. Doesn't survive if the platform changes again.
Record it while it plays, on your own device (system / loopback audio)A real audio file you can move into a DAWCaptured in real time, at the quality of the stream — not the original render. No stems, and you sit through the full length per track. Check your own obligations for anything you don't own.
Ask Udio, and watch the changelogAn authoritative answer for your specific accountThe changelog's last logged entry is from May 2025 and the page itself was edited 28 Jan 2026 — so absence of an entry is not a promise of return.

If you made songs you want to keep off-platform, the recording route is the one people actually use. It's slow: one pass per track, in order, no stems at the end of it.

Is your download button gone, or was it never there?

Three answers, one line of guidance. Nothing is sent anywhere — this only reads what you click.

1. Did you make this song yourself, on your own account?
2. Did you save it before 30 October 2025?
3. Where are you looking for the button?

Common questions

Can you download Udio AI songs?

Not through Udio, right now. Its help center states that downloading of audio, video and stems has been disabled, as part of the Universal Music Group partnership announced 29 October 2025. The sentence isn't limited to the website, so the iOS and Android apps aren't an exception either.

Why is my Udio downloader not working?

Because it depends on a file Udio no longer offers. Paste-link downloaders fetch what the platform already serves; when that's turned off, the tool has nothing to read. It's the same failure for every site on this keyword, which is why they broke on one date.

Can I still get stems from Udio?

No — stems are named in the same notice as audio and video. Splitting a stereo recording later gives you a separation of the mix, not the stems the platform once had.

Udio used to have bulk download. Where did it go?

It was real: the changelog logs “Bulk download of your own songs in playlist (pro only)” on 16 March 2025. It went away with the rest of the download surface. If you were hoping to archive a whole catalog in one click, that path isn't open.

Will downloads come back?

We don't know, and neither does any site promising you a workaround. Udio framed the change as part of a partnership that would “enable Udio to offer amazing new opportunities for artists and creators” — that's the opposite signal. Watch the official pages, not tool landing pages.

Are you affiliated with Udio?

No. WAV Keep is independent. Udio is a trademark of its owner, used here only to describe what we're talking about.

If keeping the file is the whole point

That's the reason people land on this page — not curiosity, ownership. We don't solve it for Udio, because the file isn't there. On Suno, your own songs still have a published file, and that's exactly what our inspector reads.

Last checked against Udio's help center and changelog on 14 October 2026. If the disabled notice changes, we update this page and say so here. How this site works is on our About page.
